Would you like to join us?
Please contact us and we will gladly answer any questions you may have, or come to one of our meetings as a visitor. There you will be able to talk to other members of the Society and see if you find our meetings to your liking. We hope that you will join us after attending as a visitor.
How much will it cost ?
For the 2026/2027 season the membership fee is £10 per person. In addition, there is a £1 meeting fee for members (£3 fee for visitors), which includes refreshments. Membership covers the period from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027, and entitles you to attend all of our meetings, any outings that may be arranged, and gives the benefit of affiliation to other national and local societies.
You may join us using this form, or at our stand at the Portishead Summer Show, or at our next meeting.
Our aims and objectives are
- To enrich members’ knowledge and experience of Gordano and its surroundings.
- To express an authoritative and apolitical opinion and to stimulate public interest and concern on matters affecting the environment and the quality of life within the area.
- To assist and encourage County, National and other societies having similar aims and interests.
- Collecting and imparting local history. Local history books are available to borrow.
Library
The Society has a library of books and DVDs which are available for members to borrow at our meetings.
